From the Editor

The Bombay Deacon is an attempt to bring the brethren of various lodges of the District of Bombay closer, by posting news which is high on pictures, and less on text. News which does not require login, storage space, or emails. Please circulate The Bombay Deacon to all your brethren through the lodge and chapter WhatsApp groups.

For posting information on upcoming events or news for the next edition, please route them to the District Communication Officers WhatsApp group through your Lodge Communication Officer by 15th October, with name of the lodge/ chapter, and date of event.

This issue was brought together by the efforts of Bro Parth Shastri, Lodge Bromham No. 6175, Nagpur; and W. Bro. Craig Michael, Lodge St. George No. 549, Mumbai.

Appeal

Request brethren to advise the Lodge Communication Officers of your District on

  • Any singular achievement
  • Your Freemason’s hall to be featured
  • Other initiatives, interests, etc of brethren e.g., treks, sailing, surfing, motorsports etc.
  • Advertisements of your business

so that they can find a place in The Bombay Deacon.

I also request brethren to reach out to assist me in some of these (and more) articles and be a contributor to The Bombay Deacon.

As part of a new initiative in The Bombay Deacon, we’ve decided to showcase some of the wonderful Freemasons Halls across the District of Bombay. We are starting with Freemasons Hall, Nagpur.

Freemasons Hall, Nagpur

The hall was built under the expertise of Rao Bahadur Rajaram Sitaram Dixit, a non-Mason who volunteered his professional services and executed the project on a no-profit/free basis.

The Lodge Building was completed and consecrated on at the hands of Rt. Wor. Bro. Sir Lawrence Jenkins, the District Grand Master on 19th November 1904

 

Meeting and Events

22nd September 2026, Tuesday, Mumbai

At the Regular Meeting of Lions Lodge 7713 Bro. Wesley Colaço (Standing behind the WM) was raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason.

 

23rd September 2026, Wednesday, Nagpur

At the Regular Meeting of Lodge Bromham No. 6175, two brothers (seated L-R Bro Aditya Tohare, Bro Shriram Iyer) were raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason.

 

26th September 2026, Saturday, Nagpur

At the Regular Meeting of Lodge Penchvale No. 7643, Bro. Dhaval Khudkhudia (seated) was passed to the degree of a Fellowcraft.

 

 30th September 2026, Wednesday, Nagpur

At the Regular Meeting of Chapter Justice and Peace, Bro Mahesh Bagul ( standing 5th from left) was exalted.
