The Freemasons of Pune organized a cycle ride on Saturday 9th April 2022 to raise charity for the Bombay Masonic Benevolent Fund (BMBF), the premier Charity organization under the District Grand Lodge of Bombay (www.dglbombay.in). The ride of approximately 70Km from Pune to Lonavala in Maharashtra, India was flagged off from the Freemasons Hall, Pune by VWBro. Devesh Hingorani, Dy. District Grand Master at 5am. In total, 36 cyclists comprising of Masons and members – men & women of the Young Seniors (aged 65+ years) cycling group participated. The ride concluded at the Barton Freemasons Hall at Lonavala, where the District Grand Master for Bombay, RWBro. Percy Driver met the cyclists and handed over individual certificates of participation. The Ride was ably supported by Lokmanya Hospital who provided an ambulance and a medical team, physiotherapists and other support vehicles. The cyclists were treated to a sumptuous breakfast and provided a brief introduction about Freemasonry and the various charities being done under the BMBF. While almost half of the riders chose to ride back to Pune after breakfast, for the others, the organizers made arrangements for transport back to Pune.
