At a Special Communication held in March 1940, WBro. H.E. Sir Roger Lumley was installaed as the District Grand Master. His Excellency invested Rt. WBro. W.A.C Bromham as Deputy DGM and WBro. Sohrab Davar and John Humphrey as Assistant DGMs.
Rt. WBro. Lumley consecrated Lodge Morning Star No. 5831 at Bombay on 31st July 1940 (for ten years this Lodge retained its name, but thereafter it was styled Sohrab Davar, in memory of the late Rt. WBro. Sohrab Davar, Past DGM).
H.R.H. the Duke of Connaught, Past Grand Master died in 1942.
Shortly, after the shock of the passing away of the Duke of Connaught, Most WBro. H.R.H. the Duke of Kent, the Grand Master died in a place crash, while on active service.
In March 1943, Rt. WBro. H.E. Sir Roger Lumley presided over the DGL for the last time before his departure to the UK. His portrait was unveiled at the Freemasons’ Hall, Bombay.
