RT. WBRO. SIR REGINALD ARTHUR SPENCE

DISTRICT GRAND MASTER 1928-1934

A Special Communication of the District Grand Lodge was held in Bombay on 29th November 1928 when Rt. WBro. Sir Leslie Wilson installed WBro. Sir Reginald Arthur Spence as District Grand Master.

At the February 1929 Communication, presided over by the new DGM, a portrait of Rt. WBro. Sir Leslie Wilson in Masonic Regalia was unveiled.

On 28th March 1931, the DGM consecrated Lodge Dawn of Peace No. 5260 at Lonavala.

In 1932, for the first time in the history of the DGL, the DGM, Rt. WBro. Sir Reginald Spence paid an official visit to Lodge Light in Arabia.

The Masonic Year Book explains that Lodge Jhalawar No. 3660, warranted some years ago, had never met. H.H. of Jhalawar, who was actively interested in it, died in 1929. As there was no further likelihood of its being continued, it was erased in December 1931.

Lodge Dawn of Peace attained the status of “Hall Stone Lodge”.

In November 1933, the DGM consecrated Lodge Justice & Peace No. 5442, Bombay. This Lodge now meets at Sholapur. A Special Communication of the DGL was held at Karachi in 1934, Rt. WBro. Sir Reginald Spence presiding.

Another Special Communication was held in Nagpur under the banner of Lodge Corinth No. 1122 with the DGM presiding.
